NSYNC, BSB, B2M or NKOTB?: Hard to choose, but Boyz II Men take the top spot.
What’s your day job?
I’m the Operations Manager of a distribution company. This is not what I had in mind when I graduated with my Communications degree with an emphasis in PR. However, when opportunities knock that may not be exactly what you think you’ll enjoy, you have to keep an open mind. Great things may lie on the other side.
How do you hold yourself accountable?
Professionally, I stay as organized as possible and make lists on post-its stuck to my computer so they stare at me each day and keep me focused. Personally, I tell my big goals to my close friends and family who I know will keep encouraging me to achieve them.
What fuels you to take action?
Life is short and there is no better time than the present! As I get older I’m realizing that sometimes I have to take risks and get out of my comfort zone if I want to accomplish my goals. I also try my best to put 100% effort into work, my relationships and the activities I’m involved in.
How do you inspire progress in others?
By being encouraging. A smile and encouraging word can go a long way. When it comes to my work with college women, I try to be a positive mentor and lead by example.
If the sky was truly the limit, what would you do with your life?
I would travel the world and volunteer my time with all types of organizations that help people. I have been blessed many times over and would love to give back.
What do you do in your free time? Assuming you have free time!
I serve on the Alumni Board for my high school and I’m also the chapter advisor for the Gamma Phi Beta chapter at Chapman University.
You’re sitting in an airplane between a woman in a suit and a man who looks like he’s the lead singer of a rock band. Who do you talk to and why?
I’d try and talk to both of them. I’d try not to judge a book by it’s cover in both cases and hear each of their stories. The world is full of many unique people, who all have a story to tell. Unless I ask I’ll never know what they can share that may leave a lasting impression.
